Turkish Barbering on Market Jew Street
Six chairs of work — every cut, every shave, every beard. Walk in any day of the week, no booking needed. Pricing is straightforward and matches what every other Turkish barber in Penzance charges, so you can compare on a level playing field.
Men's Haircut
Classic clipper cut, scissor cut, or a full restyle — whatever suits the day. Our men's haircut is the most-booked walk-in service at Selo, finished with a quick neck shave and a cologne mist. Around 25-35 minutes in the chair.
Skin Fade
Skin, low, mid, high, drop or burst — every fade we cut is built around your hair pattern, not a copy-paste template. Our skin fade is the second-most-booked service in the shop, and the photos in the gallery should give you a good sense of what we can do.
Turkish Hot Towel Shave
The full Turkish ritual — pre-shave oil, two passes with the cut-throat, hot towels, post-shave balm and a finishing cologne. Around 30-40 minutes. This is the service Turkish barbering is famous for, and we still do it the way it was taught.
Beard Trim & Shape
Trim, shape, line-up and contour — a proper beard service rather than a quick edge-up. Combine it with a hot-towel finish for the full Turkish beard treatment.
Kids Cut (Under 12)
Patient cuts for kids, including skin fades for the older ones. Bring them in any day — Saturdays around 1pm are our busiest, so a weekday or earlier in the morning is usually a quieter chair.
Cut & Beard Combo
Our most-asked combo — full haircut, beard trim, hot towel finish. Around 50-60 minutes from start to finish, and you walk out done top to chin in one sitting.

Selo is owned and run by Selahattin "Selo" Kilic — a Turkish barber who opened the shop on Market Jew Street in 2019. Every chair in the shop is set up for the full Turkish service: cut-throat shaves, hot towels, proper beard work and the finishing touches that turn a haircut into a sit-down. This isn't a "Turkish-style" barber. It's a Turkish barber.
Walk in any day, including Sundays
We are open seven days a week, including Sunday. Mon-Sat from 8am, Sundays from 10am. No bookings — you walk in, take a seat, and we get you in the chair. The shop is on Market Jew Street, the main pedestrian shopping street in Penzance, two minutes' walk from the train station and around five from the harbour.
The full Turkish service set
Cut, fade, shave, beard, kids, combos — and the small things. Cologne mist after a cut, hot towel after a shave, ear and nose tidy on request. We do the small details because they are part of what a Turkish barber does, not because they are an upsell.

Market Jew Street is the main pedestrian shopping street in Penzance, running from the train station up towards Causewayhead. We are at the east end of the street, around two minutes' walk from Penzance railway station and five minutes from the harbour. Easiest parking is at Wharfside Shopping Centre car park (a short walk west) or the harbour car park (a short walk south).

Do I need to book an appointment?

No — we are walk-in only, every day of the week. Just turn up. Saturday around 1pm is usually our busiest hour, so come earlier in the day or expect a 15-30 minute wait at peak times.
Are you open on Sundays?

Yes — Sunday 10am to 4pm. We are one of very few barbers in Penzance open all day Sunday.
How much is a haircut?

Men's haircut from £16, skin fade from £20, hot towel shave from £15, beard trim from £13, kids' cut (under 12) from £14, cut and beard combo from £29. Prices in the shop are the same — and the same as every other Turkish barber on the street.
